• Many children in our area have never been to the dentist, and risk not only getting tooth decay or gum disease, but risk being able to smile, chew food, miss school, and get other disease and illnesses
• 54% of households have a high-school diploma or less education, and many children are the first in their family to graduate high school.
• Affording basic necessities is a leading cause of how families fall into poverty, and many local children cannot afford a winter coat, boots, gloves or sneakers.
